Vintage arcade machines and bowling lanes in a club: AVENUE opens its doors

When MARQUEE opened its doors in Marina Bay Sands a few weeks agone, it gave partygoers licence to become kids again, what with its ferris wheel and LED-lit tunnel slides – the latter didn't stop even those in heels from shimmying downwardly to the dance floor.
Expect more nostalgia (and grown-upwards fun) when sister venue AVENUE opens tomorrow (May 23). While information technology bills itself every bit a bespoke lounge – and its decor piles on the swank – the addition of vintage arcade games like pinball and skee brawl machines, a pool tabular array, and a mini bowling alley help go along pretentiousness at bay.
Located within the aforementioned complex every bit MARQUEE, the 372 sqm space is decked out to resemble a New York penthouse apartment, with woods panelled walls, textured granite tabletops, plush custom banquettes and glowing glass pendants. Makes sense: The Avenue brand has roots in the Large Apple, having first set up upwards store there in 2013. It established a second outpost in Los Angeles in 2017. Singapore is its outset venture outside the States.
The lounge is divided into distinct zones – a private section with two mini bowling lanes; a master lounge area with costly chairs and low tables; a gaming room with a pool tabular array and vintage arcade games; and a gilded room with its own personal bar. A visit is alike to wandering around the habitation of an eccentric New York billionaire.
Drinks-wise, you lot're looking at a carte of reinvented classics as well equally signature cocktails. Just Another Sling, for example, is a take on the Singapore Sling, with the improver of gula melaka. For gin lovers, there are concoctions like Sunny Island and G.L.T. Fans of whisky-based creations tin can sample the Smokescreen, CC Old Fashioned or Dancing in the Dark, while tequila and mezcal buffs can gild the Bound on the Cadillac or Rosita Rock.
AVENUE Singapore is located at Marina Bay Sands, two Bayfront Avenue, Basement 3, Singapore 018972, and is accessible via its Level 1 entrance on the exterior of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
